Are you selling or buying? If you are selling: what about this forum?

I am trying to find the best way to sell some books.

For info at Sotheby they are not interested in books valued at less than £2,000.

This has nothing to do with the forum even if sometimes I am asking myself if it's worth the time and would like more feedback or other people posting topics.

I am not certain, yet I presume that an auction house in Portsmouth or another town with naval connections would be the best option. Perhaps Brighton as well. I mentioned 'what about this forum' to indicate that a lot of naval enthousiasts visit it, so it might be worth to tell us what books you wish to sell and what price you expect. We might be interested. If they happen to be rare books, you might indeed better have them auctioned (with a reserve).

OK.

They are rather expensive books like Clarke's Life of Nelson.

London for sure - do not bother with provincial auction houses for important material. Bonham's is a good bet - I would think. But any of the major London auction houses would be better.
