Louisa Cremer married Lieutenant James Hanson, RN, in 1798.
He was lost at sea on 26 January 1800, while in the command of the Brazen when she was wrecked with all on board except one man, on the Ave Rocks off Newhaven.
Louisa gave birth to a posthumous son, James Hawsey, on 5 May 1800, but he died on 17 May 1802.
She died on 2 July 1884, aged 103, at Marl House, Bexley, Kent.
So she drew a Navy widow's pension for 84 years after having been married for 18 months.
This must be the longest pension in the history of the RN.
