1758 First sheathing of a frigate with copper.

1854 The rate of Landsman removed and Leading Seaman and Chief Petty Officer introduced.

24 September 1850 Rum ration halved withdrawal of evening issue.

Three things that were important during the Napoleonic and it could be said that they altered naval warfare at sea:

Gunlock

Carronade

Signalling - general communications
