Here is the passing certificate of HN of 9 April 1777 from TNA ADM107/6/386.

It has two points of interest.

It says that Mr Horatio Nelson appears to be more than 20 years of age.
He was 18. As he had to produce a birth certificate (not kept here), one can imagine that the Rev Edmund has produced a nice fake birth certificate.

The arithmetic is a little wobbling: from my calculator, his time at sea add to 5.9.2.5 and not 6.3.1.6. He was 3 months short of the mandatory 6 years.

Uncle Suckling doesn't appear in the passing captains.
