This is one of the best books you could ever have on the Royal Navy in the Eighteenth Century.
This is the companion volume of Rif Winfield's other volume; the British warships in the age of sail 1793 to 1817.
I have used both books so much in my upcoming histories of the ships of the Royal Navy between the years of 1739 to 1815.

Highy reccommended.
