http://www.archive.org has a great collection of naval books in text or pdf format.

It's somewhat discouraging when you have spent a lot of time (and money) assembling a naval history library, but you can find there a lot of books that are difficult to find (and expensive to buy): Clowes, Beatson, Campbell, Richmond, etc.

The quality of the books is very unequal, be ready for very heavy downloads (gigas sometimes). The indexing is highly inconsistent so if a book doen't show, try other keywords, and other, and other...

A useful ressource but this is no substitute for a real library with real books.
