The Royal Navy’s HMS Vanguard and the French Navy’s Le Triomphant collided in mid Atlantic.
They are both nuclear powered and were carrying nuke missiles.

On the radio this morning, the Today programme, John Humphreys said he didn't know how big the Atlantic was. Have just read that it's 33 million square miles. Wonder if that's correct?

According to wikipedia:
Quote:
The Atlantic Ocean is the second-largest of the world's oceanic divisions; with a total area of about 106.4 million square kilometres (41.1 million square miles). It covers approximately one-fifth of the Earth's surface.

So it's even bigger.
One wonder how 2 subs can collide in so much water and what they do there with nuclear missiles?
Attack Belgium?

Here is a good one about the Belgian Navy.
We have (I think) 2 frigates including a brand new one.
Some years ago during a Nato exercice, they had to fire a gun. That gun is mounted on a gyroscope (don't ask me) which compensates for the movement of the ship. And so they fired just when the ship was up a wave and shot their own bow.
