All of the plans in the National Maritime Museum's Admiralty Collection have been scanned and can be copied full size to order.
It is also possible to order photographic reproductions from the scans.

Send an e-mail to plansandphotos@nmm.ac.uk giving details of the ship(s) in which you are interested and giving your full postal address and they
will give you the necessary information for ordering.

I have inquired after some plans and I was asked to inform you all that only the sailing navy era plans (from 1700 - 1815) have been digitised. Vessels after this period have not been digitised. Exactly the right age for this forum, I'd say.

Before I shall place an order regarding the plans, I would be much obliged if anyone knows if Diana,38 was the same class as either Active,38 (Active-class) or Ethalion,38 (Artois/Apollo class). Or, if they are not the same class: is Diana quite similar to Active and/or Ethalion. I ask this, because Diana is in de 'anatomy of the ship'-serie and the price of copies of the real plans are quite expensive. Though 'the frigate Diana' is temporarily out of stock, I am still hoping to get my hands on it within reasonable time. I know not which plans the author used in this book.
