CISMAS (Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Maritime Archaeology Society) is diving on the wreck of the Colossus since 2004.

They have interesting photo albums at http://www.facebook.com/Cismas.org.uk/photos and a website at http://www.cismas.org.uk/

In December 1798 the Colossus was on her way home to England carrying wounded from the battle of the Nile, the body of Admiral Viscount Shuldham and cargo including part of Sir William Hamiltonís collection of Greek pottery.
She was sheltering from a gale in St Maryís Roads when the anchor cable parted and she was driven aground to the south of Samson. All but one member of the crew were taken off safely before the Colossus turned onto her beam ends and proceeded to break up.
