Educating the Royal Navy: 18th And 19th Century Education for Officers by Harry Dickinson (2007) is a very good book and probably unique on the subject.

I just discovered that I own 2 copies. If somebody is interested I sale 1 copy for 60 eur (with postage) instead of 86 (amazon price).
Just fill the form in the website for security and add the name of the book in the comments.

What time does liberty on Saturday/Sunday after Navy graduation start? I'm planning a trip to see a friend graduate from Navy Basic Training in September 2010. I have stalked the Navy to no avail to find an answer to this question. I know when he has to be back, but when is he allowed out on that Saturday/Sunday? Thanks!

If he was a Midshipman in Nelson's times I could say that there was no liberty on Saturday/Sunday at all but I have not the least idea of the practice today Crying or Very sad

Maybe some member has a more contemporary idea or you can simply ask your friend.
