Returned to Spithead 18 April. Suggests that Robert Cooper, surgeon's second mate is appointed first mate in place of John Wilson and a new second mate is appointed. Dunkirk 14th. June. The Nore 21st. June. TORRINGTON was under repair from June 1748 until December 1749 - 1744 Capt. Thorpe FOWKE, appointed Nov. 1744. He was only a few weeks in command, as in January 1745 he removed to DREADNOUGHT.
- 1744 Capt. John HARDY, he paid off TORRINGTON at Plymouth in 1746.
- 1762 Capt. Richard SMITH, appointed 18th. Nov. He is said to have been captain of SQUIRREL early in 1763.
