  • 1740 Capt. Lord Aubrey BEAUCLERCK. At the end of the year he was sent out, under Sir Challoner OGLE, to reinforce Adm. VERNON in the expedition against Carthagena. He took part in Commodore LESTOCK's attack, with a squadron of five ships, against the castle of Boca Chica on the 23rd. March 1741, but fell in renewal of the assault on the following day.
  • 1741 Capt. Edward BOSCAWEN was promoted out of the SHOREHAM frigate to replace him. When the idea of further attacks was given up, Capt. BOSCAWEN was employed in assisting in demolishing the forts that had been captured. He returned to England in May 1742, the PRINCE FREDERICK anchoring at St. Helen's on the 14th., after a passage of nine weeks from Jamaica. 1755 Capt. Jervis Henry PORTER.
  • 1758 Capt. Robert MAN, one of the fleet commanded by Adm. BOSCAWEN in the successful assault on Louisburg.
