  • 1764 Capt. Samuel THOMPSON.
  • 2nd April. LARK was docked at Portsmouth and on the 15th. extra stores were put on board for the Surveyors who will survey the coasts and harbours of Newfoundland. Capt. THOMPSON complained that his master, Mr UPHAM, had not returned from leave when his presence was required to help with fitting out for foreign service, and he had now discovered that he had been appointed to a yacht.
  • She sailed from Portsmouth on 5 May.
  • In 1766 Capt. THOMPSON removed to TRIUMPH.
  • 1766 Capt. Charles BUCKNER, promoted to post captain in LARK on 17 February, West Indies.
  • 1768? Capt. John FALKINGHAM, out of CHATHAM. While he held the command he had the misfortune to fall into a careening pit causing a rupture which ultimately resulted in his death in 1758 on board the JASON frigate.
