- 1734 Capt. Tankred ROBINSON, 1st. captain Capt. Thomas WHITNEY, 2nd captain to Sir John NORRIS.
In March 1735 Capt. ROBINSON was appointed a rear admiral and Capt. WHITNEY was promoted in his stead. - On 26th. May 1735 Sir John sailed from Spithead in BRITANNIA, with a strong Squadron under his command, for Lisbon, to protect the Portuguese against the Spaniards. On board his ships were 12,840 chosen men, armed for Land and Sea Service.

- In June 1734 BRITANNIA's first lieutenant, Mr MARTIN, was promoted to be captain of the POOL fireship.
