ARUNDEL (32) Built in 1695, Shoreham.
Sold in June 1743.

  • 1703 Capt. Unton DERING, who was appointed in March 1703. ARUNDEL was employed in convoying transports or small merchant fleets. He died on 16 November 1706 whilst still in command.
  • 1706 Capt. Joseph WINDAR (or WINDER). 1 December.
  • 1711 Capt. Andrew DOUGLAS(S). The lists state that he took post in ARUNDEL on 25 January having previously been dismissed from the navy as a lieutenant and restated. He seems to have been a man with a temper that he could not control because, on 15 December 1712, he was fined three month's pay by a court martial held in the River Medway, for using improper language, highly unbecoming a commander, to his officers, and confining them to their cabins without just cause. He was not employed again.
