- William HEXT, coast of Spain.
The Duke of Wellington intended to attack the French lines on the morning of the 10 November 1813 and asked for a naval demonstration off the harbour of St. Jean de Luz. VESUVIUS, CHALLENGER, SPARROW and RACER were sent but, because the swell was so heavy, nothing more than a demonstration could be undertaken. It did keep the enemy batteries employed and SPARROW received some damage. - 1815 Out of commission.
