Samuel GROVE, 07/1811. In August 1811 her surgeon, MR George MAJOR, was tried before a court martial for contempt and insolence to Lieut. ELLERBY. He was found guilty and was sentenced to be dismissed the service. - 1812 John SMITH, Gibraltar.

On 3 June 1813 STROMBOLO, with VOLCANO, THAMES, BRUNE and 8 gunboats, took part in a combined operation to capture a fort which commanded a pass on the road from Tortosa to Tarragona.(For details see VOLCANO) Lieut. JAMES, RMA, was landed from STROMBOLO and his party worked two 8 inch mortars and the shells, thrown with great precision, blew up a magazine. Before the main breaching battery was due to open fire the enemy showed a white flag and Capt. STODDART went to the fort with Capt. ZEHNPFENNING and brought back the offer of surrender. - 1815 Ditto, Sheerness.
