  • 1798 Lieut. James Andrew WORTH, Channel.
    On 5 January 1798 he captured the privateer ZELIE.
  • 1800 Lieut. Salusbury Price HUMPHREYS, Channel. She took part in the attack by fireships on four French frigates in Dunkirk Roads on 8 July 1800.
    The DESIREE (40), was taken by DART but the others managed to cut their cables and escape from the fireships.
    The English squadron was under the command of Capt. INMAN in ANDROMEDA and consisted of WASP, FALCON, DART, COMET, ROSARIO, BOXER, TEASER, BITER, STAG, NILE, ANN, KENT and VIGILANT.
  • 1801 Lieut. James IRWIN, Downs.
    On the 10 April 1801 STAG was about 30 miles south of Beachy Head when Lieut. IRWIN sighted a lugger and a brig on her weather bow.
    He gave chase and within an hour and a half captured them both.
    The lugger was the POISSON VOLANT, a French privateer out of Dieppe, commanded by Jacque Antoine Hedd with 55 men, and armed with fourteen carriage guns.
    The brig which was retaken had been her only prize.
    The lugger had two men killed and four wounded.
