  • 1818 George GOSLING, 15/07/1818, fitting out for Jamaica.
    On 17 December 1819, while on a cruise off Cuba, she drove ashore and captured after a long chase among the Colorados, a pirate schooner formally the VELOY of Jamaica. She also retook a French merchant brig which had been bound for Havana from Marseilles.
    A German brig from Bremen was also rescued but a Spanish schooner whose crew the pirates had massacred was lost.
    Lieut. Whitworth LLOYD and two of his men were wounded in the boats.
