  • 1809 Lieut. Nathaniel VASSALL, Halifax.
    In 1813 JUNIPER was serving off the north coast of Spain co-operating with Wellington's army.
    On 1 September 1813 JUNIPER took part in the demonstration on the back of the rock at San Sebastian to draw attention from an assault on the breach in the defences. (see BEAGLE) She and HOLLY were stationed to the west of Cape Higuera during the final attack on San Sebastian which led to its fall on the 9th.
  • 1814 Ditto, Plymouth.
    (Lieut. VASSALL obtained his first commission in 1790 and was wounded as one of NELSON's lieutenants at the Battle of the Nile. He was finally promoted to commander in June 1814. He died on 8 September 1832.)
