  • 1779 Capt. LUTTREL, with a small squadron he captured the town of Omoa in Honduras in October and took two Spanish treasure ships. See LOWESTOFFE for the story.
  • 1780 While CHARON and BIENFAISANT (64), were escorting a convoy in the Irish Sea on 13 August, they captured a very large French privateer, LE COMTE D'ARTOIS, 64, with 644 men on board. The French lost 57 killed and wounded, the two English ships, 26.
  • Capt. Thomas SYMONDS, On 10 October 1781, along with three others, GUADALOUPE, FOWEY and VULCAN and some transports, she was burnt in the Chesapeake before Yorktown by hot shot from the American batteries, they would otherwise have been captured.
