    HARFORD and three of his crew were drowned when a boat taking him to his ship overturned.

    Whilst cruising off the Norwegian coast on 2 September 1811 CHANTICLEER and MANLY were in action with three 18-gun Danish ships, ALSEN, LAALAND and SAMSO. The enemy concentrated their fire on MANLY which, after her spars and rigging were cut to pieces and with only six guns left, was forced to strike. CHANTICLEER, maintaining her course away from the action, declined to help.
    MANLY's captain was "most honourably acquitted" by a court martial in January 1812 but remained a lieutenant,SPEAR was posted on 3 May 1813.
