    Cdr. STEWART was drowned in the River Medway with the purser and the boat's crew on 26 December 1823.

    BRISK was employed escorting convoys between Smyrna and Malta and hunting for pirates in the Archipelago.She was attached to Vice Ad. CODRINGTON's combined fleet at the Battle of Navarino. BRISK, ROSE, MUSQUITO and PHILOMEL, under Capt. FELLOWES of DARTMOUTH were allotted the task of dealing with six fire ships at the entrance to the harbour. They saved the French flag ship SYRENE from being burnt.
    BRISK lost one man killed and three wounded.
