  • She was laid down in 1806 on the same slip as used for building the frigate ALEXANDRIA which was launched on 18 February.
  • 1808 First commissioned by Lewis SHEPHERD, 07/1808, for the Jamaica station. He was promoted to post captain on 21/10/10, the fifth anniversary of Trafalgar.

    Mr James HUGHES, the carpenter, was tried by court martial for absenting himself for eleven days after joining her when his services were much needed. He was sentenced to be dismissed his ship.
  • 1815 West Indies.
    BRAZEN took out news of the peace treaty with America, which had been ratified on 25 March, to the British forces in the West Indies. She left Mobile on the 25 March 1815 and sailed from Havana on the 4 April returning home with General Sir John LAMBERT and a party of the 95th. regiment, landing them at Portsmouth on the 6 May.
