    At 11 o'clock on 7 August J. ALLEN, who had been condemned for his part in the mutiny aboard HERMIONE, was executed on board BRAKEL in the harbour. He was a native of Chatham and was but 20 years old the day of his trial. His brother was in the dockyard directly opposite and fell down senseless when the gun was fired. Another man, J. WATSON, had been executed at 10 o'clock the same day on board PUISSANT at Spithead for the same offence.
