  • 1818 Plymouth.
  • 1822 Capt. Constantine Richard MOORSOM, 04/1822, Cape of Good Hope.
  • 1825 Capt. Isham Fleming CHAPMAN, 10/1824, Cape of Good Hope. His appointment was occasioned by the death of Commodore Joseph NOURSE who died on board the ANDROMACHE in September and was succeeded by Capt. MOORSOM. Capt. CHAPMAN's appointment was confirmed at home in the following December.
  • 1826 On 19 January Capt. CHAPMAN was tried by a court-martial on board VICTORY at Portsmouth, Rear Ad. Sir William Gage presiding, on charges relating to the purchase of a slave negress at Zanzibar. She had been taken to sea and mysteriously disappeared off the coast of Africa. The trial lasted for three days and the court, concluding that she had probably escaped through a cabin window, sentenced him to be dismissed the service.
    Capt. Adolphus FITZ-CLARENCE was appointed in his stead.
  • 1827 Capt. Charles Leonard IRBY. He was promoted to the command of ARIADNE on 2 July but did not leave his previous ship, the PELICAN, until 27 September. He then assumed command of GENOA on 15 November after Navarino.

    ARIADNE paid off in Plymouth in May 1828.
  • 1828 Capt. Frederick MARRYAT, 11/1828. He was employed for many months on diplomatic service at Madeira and the Azores and then spent more time searching for supposed rocks off the latter islands. His private affairs obliged him to resign his command in November 1830.
  • 1830 Capt. George RENNIE (act.), 02/1830. Capt. Charles PHILLIPS, 11/1830.
  • 1832 Ditto, West Indies. Ordered home in the spring of 1834.
