  • 1812-1813 John WILSON.
    ARAB took out a Spanish ambassador to the Court of St. Petersburg and returned home from Gottenburg with despatches giving an account of the burning of Moscow and Napoleon's retreat from Russia. She next escorted a convoy to Barbados where Cdr. WILSON, suffering from bad health, was relieved by Lieut. Robert STANDLEY (lost in CRANE, in 1814).
    In April 1813 she detained four vessels under the Swedish flag. Two of them were condemned but, due to the failure of the prize agent, no money was ever received.
    On 3 November she captured off Cape Sambro the American privateer schooner INDUSTRY of 5 guns and 26 men. She was 14 days out of Marblehead.

  • On 12 December 1823 ARAB was wrecked off Belmullet near Broadhaven in the west of Ireland. All on board were lost, Cdr. HOLMES leaving a widow and several young children.
